Fun for all the Family !

We are busy making plans for our third annual residents’ fun day. We have had some great suggestions from the Towns and Rural Communities Association (TARCA) and the Tenants Association of South Shropshire (TASS) for activities and information available on the day.

One of the new attractions for 2011 is bungee trampolines. They’re great fun and all the family can have a go.

Keep looking on the website for updates on activities available and to register to receive your ticket for the day.

to all those involved in this week-ends Challenge day. A great day was had by all and it was good to see so many of you taking part in the activities. We have captured lots of photos and are working on getting the video uploaded to the blog as soon as possible. We will be updating the site with tales of the challenge day as they come through. There are loads of prizes up for grabs at this year’s Community Challenge

We have prizes for most of the activities on offer throughout the day. Our prizes include:

£25 Argos vouchers for each age group in the cycle challenge

£50 sports vouchers for each age group in the penalty shootout challenge

Cookery Demonstrations

Mark Williams from Key Cottage Catering, based near Ludlow will demonstrate a range of delicious healthy and affordable meals (starters, main courses and puddings), using wherever possible fresh locally sourced ingredients.

Mark has demonstrated regularly at both the Ludlow and Tenbury Wells Food Festivals and runs his own business providing a range of healthy foods at reasonable cost.

He will be joined by Dennis Pugh who runs his own successful business in County Durham.

There will be four demos throughout the day, finishing with our Grand Pizza Making Challenge.

Prizes will be awarded for the best pizza!

Family Learning have lots for you to do

The Family Learning Programme will be attending the event with lots of activities for all the family to enjoy.

They will be holding:

Tai Chi lessons

Pilattes lessons

Play for all sessions

‘Crafty Gardens’ for 6 – 11 year olds to enjoy with their parents

Family Learning have something for all the family to enjoy together.

New Food Arrangements

After feedback from last year’s challenge, we have changed the food arrangements on the day.

Just like last year, everyone that attends the event will have one food voucher, and two drinks vouchers. There will be food stations located throughout the venue with a choice of different types of food at each station, including baguettes, a salad bar and a vegetarian option.

We hope that this change will help everyone enjoy their day.

Tass Attending

Tass ( Tenants Association of South Shropshire) will be attending the challenge day again this year, with prizes on offer.

They are challenging all children to a colouring competition, with two age groups.

Under 8s and over 8s.

Design your own pictures and bring them along on the day.

Adults haven’t been forgotten either, with a general knowledge quiz on offer.

Mini World Cup Football Challenge

If your up for the challenge and think you’ve got the skills, energy and enthusiasm to win this years Mini World Cup Challenge then get in touch!

We would like existing teams as well as individuals, that just want to get involved, to take part!
The competition is open to girls and boys from 9 -13 years old.
